Furry Friends Community Spay Clinic is a low-cost clinic offering spay and neuter services to pet owners with a financial hardship that prevents them from altering their animal as well as caretakers of feral, barn, and alley cats.
Because Furry Friends believes that spaying and neutering is key to reducing the number of animals entering shelters, it created the nonprofit clinic to reach animals that otherwise would not be altered.
The clinic’s licensed veterinarian and veterinary technicians care for the animals with compassion in a modern and fully equipped surgery suite at 1209 Grand Ave., West Des Moines (next door to our previous shelter).
Surgeries are scheduled for Monday and Thursday of each week. Animals should be checked in to the clinic at 8:30 a.m. Drop off and check out times are strict to help ensure the medical staff can get started on surgeries in a timely manner to spay and neuter as many dogs and cats each day.
Your pet will thank you!
