Furry Friends Refuge goes through supplies very quickly, so your help in restocking the pantry and cleaning cabinets is greatly appreciated!
For the most up-to-date information on what the animals need, check our Amazon.com wish list. You can purchase items there and ship them directly to the West Des Moines shelter, or you can use it as guidance for your brick-and-mortar shopping.
And anytime you’re shopping online, start at AmazonSmile, a service offered by Amazon.com, and designate us as your charity. All you have to do is select Furry Friends Refuge, and Amazon will donate a percentage of eligible purchases to our shelter.
You’re always welcome to bring the following supplies to either shelter during our open hours:
♦ Cat/Kitten food * (nothing with Red Dye listed as an ingredient)
♦ Kitten food* (nothing with Red Dye listed as an ingredient)
♦ Cat litter (clumping)
♦ Fresh greens for the bunnies
♦ Dog collars
♦ Dog beds
♦ Leashes
♦ Rolls of trash bags
♦ Paper towels
For larger items — such as appliances in working order or property — please contact help@furryfriendsrefuge.org with further details. We now have an account with Vehicles For Charity, which will take care of selling cars in any condition and donate 80 percent of the profit to Furry Friends!
You can also bring smaller, gently used items to upscale consignment store Stuff Etc.’s Clive and Ankeny locations and designate them as benefiting Furry Friends — the store will then give us 50 percent of the proceeds once items sell!
