Volunteer
Furry Friends Refuge is 100% volunteer run and managed.  We rely on our volunteers to keep all of our programs running including adoptions, foster care, fundraising, education, and community outreach.

Furry Friends is in particular need of foster homes for our adoptable dogs.  If you are interested in fostering, please e-mail volunteer@furryfriendsrefuge.org to receive a fostering application.
Volunteer Orientation

Interested in volunteering?  Attend our volunteer orientation on the first Saturday of each month at 9:00-10:30am.  At orientation you will learn more about what the organization does, explore different types of volunteering activities, and find a fit that is best for you.  Children are welcome to attend with a parent or adult guardian.  Orientation is at our adoption center at 9235 Swanson Blvd. Suite 2 in Clive.

Wish List

Here are items that the shelter currently needs:

  • Paper towels
  • Cat and kitten food
  • Cat litter
  • Greens for bunnies (green leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, cilantro, and parsley)
  • litterpans
  • cat toys
  • bean bag chairs or floor cushions
  • children's videos and DVDs with an animal or humane education theme
